Thing 7

Thing 7 instructs us to use a website called Flickr. Flickr is on online photo sharing site that allows users to upload pictures and use tags or keywords to create associations between photos and users making it easier for photos to be found and grouped.  Because my blog is about technology in the classroom and it is my passion that I teach younger children I began a search for children with Ipads. I found many pictures illustrating this. The one that stuck out to me the most was a photo by Greg Cee titled "Reading A Book, Iphttp://www.flickr.com/photos/curwood/5604248661/ad Style" This photo is so interesting to me because it illustrates a very young girl learning to read a book electronically on a tablet. The thought that this is just the beginning of a new world is very exciting to me as a future teacher. This photo captures a very important moment in a child's life and encourages a type of independence that is vital in learning and growing. The link to the site is posted below and so is the picture. I recommend that you log on to the site and see what kind of photos you can find to inspire you!

  1. I love this picture :) It reminds me a little of my cousin, Alanna, when I give her my kindle to play with. She is a little younger than the girl in the photo but the idea is still the same because I find tons of educational apps for her age level. It's always so fun to watch her play. :)

  2. That's awesome. I think that for some reason kiddos just love to use technology and the earlier we can learn to use this to help them learn the better!
